Dr. Carl Folke, founder and director of science of the Stockholm Resilience Centre and director of the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, will give the Rachel Carson Distinguished Lecture “Social-ecological systems, resilience thinking and sustainability: Reconnecting development to the biosphere ” at 3:30 pm Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the MSU Kellogg Center Lincoln Room. Dr. Folke is also a foreign member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from MSU in December.
